Bad Ass Vamps and British TV

I do love me some True Blood and this weeks episode didn't disappoint in any way. Though I am almost sad to see Eric regain his memories I do miss him being a total BAMF. I am a little fustrated though on how little was actually solved in this episode though, I get that they are trying to build up for the seasons end but come on. The Belfour cousin bonding was pretty amusing and I have a slight crush on Terri.

As for my other TV obsessions go my angliophilia started to show. First their is my new obsession with Top Gear UK, it is fabulous the host are funny and charming and I have learned quite a bit about cars. I actually have a new dream car an Aston Martin DB9.

Isn't it so pretty!!! Part 2 of Doctor Who series 6 started last week and it was awesome, the whole River and the Doctor thing is so crazy it makes you want to re-watch all the episodes she is in every time there is a new reveal. The whole crazy timey wimey stuff is enough to hurt even a nerds brain.

BEDA: Pain in the neck

Most people would agree that school is a pain in the neck. Today my body decided to take that statement quite literally. Granted it is my fault for not going to the Chiropractor for two weeks when I am supposed to go weekly but it still really sucks. I have a pinched nerve in my neck so not only do I get unbearable tension in my neck and shoulders it gives me bad headaches. A heat pad helps the muscle tension a bit but only as long as the heat pad is still hot.

The whole Glee hiatus has been killing me, that show is what gets me through my tuesdays. I have become such an obsessed fan. I squealed my heart out when Kurt and Blaine kissed and I have a girl crush on Lea Michelle. She stole my heart in Spring Awakening and continues to make it beat a little faster on every Glee episode. I think I may need a real life but tv is just so much better (and I sound a little like Abed from Community).

Speaking of tv Doctor Who is almost back!!! I loved David Tennant so much that I wasn't sure how I would take to Matt Smith but he is just so brilliant that you can't help but to love him. Stephan Moffat is such a brilliant writer it is no coincident that the best episodes of the past series has been ones that he wrote.

BEDA: I am bad at this

The whole point of BEDA is blogging every day in April and so far all I have done is blog mon-thurs. but I had a great weekend so that is all that matters. I really am gonna try to actually do this better by not procrastinating writing this blog till 11 pm, but I am a first class procrastinator. To make up for my lack of blogging I am gonna have a rundown of the weekend for you.

Friday:

I was on the edge of my seat the entire day, I was gonna go see Atomic Tom w/ my best friend and I was gonna rock the eff out. I actually woke-up around 10 which is pretty unusual for me. My morning and afternoon was pretty boring, I just did house work and ran some errands. As it was inching closer and closer to 9, I was getting pretty hyped up.

We actually got there pretty early b/c we thought the doors were at 8 when the doors was at 9, but it was okay because we just hungout till then and walled to the tattoo shop to see how much it would cost to get my friends belly button pierced. I was super glad that I had looked up the venue on Yelp the day before because if someone hadnt't posted a picture of the door I would have never found it.

The show was just so good!! Lion of Ido opened up and they where brilliant. The leed singer has a great voice and is super hot, and the bass player is an awesome chick that makes me want to learn how to play so I can be that rockin as well. We talked to the band after there set and I got there set list signed and bought their live ep. Next up was Ocean is Theory which is a local band, they were quite good as well, less dancey then Lion of Ido and Atomic Tom but still really good stuff. They have a cd coming out this summer so I hope I can go to the cd release party. Because we were front and center we actually got to chat with Atomic Tom while they set up and get pictures. Their set was unbelivable!!! It is one thing having a good voice, but what some singers never have is good performace value. If a band can perform it doesn't matter that you have heard their songs a million times it is a new experiance. After the show we got to hang with the show and the are all so cool, I wish I lived in New York or that they lived closer to Atlanta.

Saturday:

Saturday was spent mostly leisurly, I started reading A Rake's Guide to Seduction by Caroline Linden and listened to Lion of Ido's EP (which is really good). Around 6 pm I got a call from a friend asking if I wanted to Six Flags with her on Sunday and to go to a hooka lounge with her later that night. I got ready and packed my stuff and made my self look pretty. We went to Devon which is in Buckhead. We had a pretty good time but we were kinda crashing a party so we didn't really know anyone, so while she is cool with that I have a harder time making new friends. I am ok in a more casual setting but I am still a pretty shy person. So after Devon we went to my friends house and ate pizza then slept.

Sunday:

My legs and feet still hurt from Sunday but it was really fun so it was ok. Six Flags is always a blast though I need to get contacts so I don't have to stick my glasses down my bra at ever roller coaster. Plus a lot of the fun of the ride is seeing how high up you are and all I can see w/o my glasses is blurs of colors. Sunday made me release how glad I am that me and sisters always got along b/c my friends siblings kept going at each other. I got a really bad farmers tan, so I am gonna have to go to the tanning bed to even it out. I cannot have bad tanlines at my sisters bridal shower!

BEDA: Anticipation and new books

I am shaking from excitement for tomorrow's Atomic Tom concert. I have been looking at pictures of the venue and listening to their music for the last 30 minutes. Speaking of venues I LOVE the name of the venue it is called The Drunken Unicorn and apparently it has glittery unicorns everywhere! It is supposed to be the place for hipsters, not that hipsters will admit it if it ever goes mainstream (I kid, I kid), I am sometimes a bit of a hipster so I can't hate.

Keeping to the topic of music, I am so obsessed with Adele's new album. My favorite song is Rumor Has It, I practically have it one repeat. Her voice is just so magical, plus I am an Anglophile so she gets some extra points for being British. I would love to go to her concert but it is already sold out in Atlanta and the lowest price on stubhub is $183, I like her a lot just not the price of buying my dress for mt sisters wedding.

I have found some great music recently but I have been sorely laking in good reading material the last thing that really sucked me in was Nalani Singh's Archangel series and I read those in February. I really want to find some really engaging books to read, I have been really into paranormal romance and just have not found any new authors that just pull me into there books. On thing is that besides True Blood, I am vampired out. I do like vampires I just a little tired of them, thats all you can find in the YA Sci-fi/Paranormal section. I feel like I need to make a list of every book I have ever read, it would take forever but it would probably help out when ppl give me book suggestions.

BEDA: Allergies suck and Camelot

I am so pooped but it is my fault for falling asleep so early (prompting me to wake up at 530 am). I woke up with a really bad stuffy nose b/c I never remember taking my allergy meds. Living in Georgia during spring sometimes really sucks.

My day was pretty boring but I did start watching Camelot, it is defiantly more dramatic then Merlin but it looks like it should be pretty good. The one thing that makes me mad is that Camelot's King Arthur is nowhere as hot as the one on Merlin. Joseph Fiennes totally makes up for it though by playing a mysterious and sexy Merlin.

I got a really cute dress from Target* that I am gonna wear to the Atomic Tom Concert on friday I am super excited about it and can not wait to get my party on!!

BEDA: Movie Review and general musing

So I am starting this whole BEDA thing a little late but I thought better late then never. I have never thought of myself as a writer but I am a very opinionated person so why not get my thought process out into the world.

Shades of Ray

Ever wonder what is it like to live inbetween two cultures, Ray a half Pakistani half Caucasian actor living in LA discovers himself while parents go through some marriage struggles. This movie really resonated with me because I can really relate to Ray's (played by Zachery Levi) struggle with not fitting in with either of his cultures, I am half Trinidadian and half Syrian and the only other ppl I know with that mix is my 3 older sisters. Jaffar Mahmood the writer/director defiantly nows what it is like to grow up muslim in america, one the funniest moment is when Ray says he doesn't eat pork and his friend Sal (Fran Kranz) mocks him because that is the only Islamic thing he follows.

One thing that I really did not like is the 5 different endings, this is a romantic comedy so you know how it is gonna end you are not gonna trick the audience by fading out to black. Another issue I had is one you will have if you like Chuck as much as I do, it is very hard for my to really believe that Zachery Levi is half Paki b/c all I could see is the dorky Buy More employee.

I don't want to give away the whole movie so I will just leave it at that, if you have Netflix I defiantly suggest you go watch Shades of Ray and tell me what you think in the comments.
